The last confirmed sighting of him was on January 26, 2019, when he was seen leaving the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. Concern for his whereabouts grew when his family, back in Alberta, could not get in touch with him.
The mystery deepened on January 27, 2019, when his vehicle, a Saturn Ion, was discovered abandoned at the popular Elk Mountain trailhead in Chilliwack. An off-duty law enforcement officer first noticed the car, which had a broken rear window. In a confusing turn of events, the vehicle was not immediately connected to a missing person case and remained in the parking lot for several months, during which it was reportedly broken into multiple times before being towed in May.
