In the late summer of 2006, a sense of unease settled over a family in Chilliwack, British Columbia, when 45-year-old Timothy Todd Lang vanished without a trace. On September 10th of that year, Timothy was last seen leaving his home. He drove off in his grey Chevrolet Metro, beginning a journey that has yet to find its end. The initial hours of his absence may not have sparked immediate alarm, but as time stretched on, a worrying picture began to emerge. It soon became clear that this was not a planned departure; Timothy had left behind all of his personal belongings, including his wallet and passport, items no one would willingly leave if they intended to be gone for any significant amount of time. The lack of these essential items painted a grim picture of a man who did not expect to be away for long, or who perhaps left in a state of distress. The day after Timothy was last seen, a significant clue in his baffling disappearance surfaced. His vehicle, the same grey Chevrolet Metro he had driven away from his residence, was discovered abandoned. The car was found in the parking lot of the Othello Tunnels, a series of old railway tunnels and bridges located in the scenic and rugged Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park near Hope, British Columbia. The discovery of his car so far from home, in a location known for its dramatic and sometimes treacherous landscape, only deepened the mystery and heightened the concerns of his loved ones and investigators. The park was searched, but the vast and challenging terrain yielded no signs of Timothy. The trail, it seemed, had gone cold almost as soon as it began. In the years that have passed since Timothy Lang's disappearance, his case has remained open, a lingering question in the hearts of his family and the community. At the time he went missing, he was described as a Caucasian male, standing five feet eight inches tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds, with a slender build, a fair complexion, short brown hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a shirt with a tiger on the front, beige pants, and a blue and beige nylon jacket. Despite the passage of time, the Fraser Valley RCMP continue to seek information that might shed light on what happened to Timothy after he left his car in the provincial park. The overview of the case remains one of a sudden and unexplained disappearance, with the discovery of his vehicle being the last known trace of his whereabouts, leaving a family to wonder and wait for answers that have remained elusive for over a decade.
