Amid the debris and devastation, investigators uncovered human remains, which were later identified through dental records as belonging to Terry Murphy. A thorough search of the rubble yielded no sign of Susan or her dog, leading authorities to believe she had not been present during the blast. The investigation into the explosion and Susan's disappearance began to uncover a series of unsettling details. A vehicle that Terry Murphy had rented from a company in nearby Swift Current was discovered abandoned behind his property. Examination of the car revealed it had been driven approximately 300 kilometers and contained a high-caliber bullet hole in its trunk, a clip of rifle bullets on the front seat, and scattered shotgun shells on the floorboard. The days turned into weeks, and with no word from Susan, concern for her welfare grew.
