At the time of his disappearance, it was thought he might have been wearing a plaid shirt and shorts, or possibly apparel from the Vancouver Canucks. His sudden absence prompted the Calgary Police Service to ask for the public's help in locating him, a plea that highlighted the community's role in bringing a vulnerable member home. The search for Jason David Peter Greyeyes came to a heartbreaking end on August 26, 2018, when his body was discovered in the 21,000 block of Sheriff King Street S.W. in Calgary. An autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed his identity, turning a missing person case into a homicide investigation.
