In the autumn of 2023, a 30-year-old woman named Nakita Jade Harris vanished from her life in Regina, Saskatchewan, leaving behind a silence that has grown heavier with time. She was last physically seen in October of that year at a home located in the 2200 block of Broder Street. The last time anyone heard from her was in early November 2023. It wasn't until months later, on April 10, 2024, that she was officially reported as a missing person to the Regina Police Service. Known to her loved ones as a strong-willed and devoted mother, her disappearance was profoundly out of character, especially as it meant missing holidays and birthdays with her young daughter, whom she loved dearly. Her family has expressed that she would never have intentionally left her child.

Nakita, who also went by her middle name, Jade, is described as being five feet five inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds with a medium build and hazel eyes. She was known to frequently change her appearance and often wore different colored wigs; at the time she was last seen, her hair was black. Her appearance is also distinguished by numerous tattoos, including a skull and butterfly on her upper-left arm, a compass on her left elbow, a campfire on her left forearm, and an octopus on her right hand. She also has a septum piercing. Despite an extensive investigation by the Regina Police Service's Major Crimes Unit, which included multiple interviews and the execution of search warrants, no new information about her whereabouts has surfaced.

The investigation into Nakita's disappearance has revealed no signs of life; there has been no activity in her bank accounts, no posts to her social media, and no records of her accessing health or social services anywhere in Canada. This complete lack of a footprint, combined with the uncharacteristic silence toward her family, has led investigators to believe that Nakita is deceased. While police have stated they don't have direct evidence to suspect foul play, it has not been ruled out. Despite the grim presumption by law enforcement, Nakita’s family holds on to the hope that she is still alive. Her case remains open, and she is listed as a long-term missing person as her family and police continue to appeal to the public for any piece of information that might finally bring answers and bring her home.
