In the winter of 2012, a 35-year-old man named Spencer Grant Joly vanished from the city of Vernon, British Columbia, leaving behind a trail of perplexing questions. He was last officially seen on January 2nd of that year. Spencer, described as a Caucasian male, stood at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed approximately 181 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. His stated intention was to embark on a journey to a warmer climate, a detail that would later add to the mystery of his disappearance. Spencer had communicated to several people that he was on his way to the Kelowna International Airport. His ultimate destination was said to be Phuket, Thailand, a popular destination for travelers seeking sun and sand. This plan, however, appears to have dissolved into an enigma. Instead of heading towards an international flight, Spencer was reportedly seen later that same day being dropped off by a taxi in Predator Ridge. This area is a residential and resort community located in the Vernon area, a significant deviation from the path to the airport. The reasons for this change in direction remain unknown. The investigation into Spencer's whereabouts uncovered a critical piece of information that deepened the concern for his well-being. Authorities could find no record of him ever leaving the country. Furthermore, there was no indication that he had ever arrived in his declared destination of Thailand. This lack of any travel footprint cast a dark shadow over his stated plans and suggested that his journey had been halted before it ever truly began. The last confirmed sighting in Predator Ridge marks the definitive end of his known movements, leaving a void where a clear timeline should be. The overview of this case is one of a man who seemingly planned an international trip, only to vanish locally under unclear circumstances, with no evidence to suggest he ever left the region.
