In the late afternoon of April 29, 2002, Raymond Wayne "Ray" Kohout, a 42-year-old nurse, husband, and father of three from Salmon Arm, British Columbia, was seen for the last time. Around 4:30 p.m., he was spotted riding his blue mountain bike along the Trans-Canada Highway, somewhere between his hometown of Salmon Arm and the community of Canoe. One account suggests that he had left his home after a family dispute. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white t-shirt layered under a dark blue hooded sweatshirt that had "Selkirk College" written on the front. He was also wearing blue jeans, white athletic shoes, a gold wedding band, and a watch. The initial search for Ray yielded no immediate answers, and the weeks turned into months with no sign of him. A significant development in the case came on September 11, 2002, when his mountain bike was discovered between Salmon Arm and Sicamous. However, this discovery did not lead to finding Ray, and he has not been seen or heard from since he vanished that spring day. The investigation, led by the Salmon Arm RCMP, has remained open over the years, with police periodically renewing their appeals to the public for any information that might shed light on what happened to him. Years have passed, and the mystery of Raymond Kohout's disappearance endures. He is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. In an effort to generate new leads, authorities have released an age-progressed sketch to show what he might look like in the years that have followed his disappearance. The case remains a painful and unresolved chapter for his family and community. Despite the passage of time, the search for answers continues, fueled by the hope that someone, somewhere, holds the key to finally understanding what became of Raymond Wayne Kohout.
