Her family reported her missing on May 9, 2025, after she uncharacteristically stopped all communication. At the time of her disappearance, Natanis was described as being five feet nine inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She has several distinct tattoos, including a cross on her forearm, a flower on the top of her right hand, and letters on her fingers. Concern for her well-being grew as days turned into weeks with no word. The investigation into Natanis's disappearance, which is considered suspicious, has been a collaborative effort between multiple police agencies, eventually being led by the Edmonton Police Service. A significant focus of the investigation has been her vehicle, a 2007 black Hyundai Tucson with a Saskatchewan license plate. In the days following her last sighting, the vehicle was tracked on an extensive journey across three provinces. It traveled through Alberta, into British Columbia including a ferry trip to Vancouver Island, and then back east into Saskatchewan. Tragically, there were no confirmed sightings of Natanis with her vehicle during this time. Ten days after she was last seen, on May 15, 2025, her Hyundai was discovered abandoned on the James Smith Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. The vehicle had been crudely repainted silver, adding another layer of concern to the case. The family of Natanis Merasty, deeply worried, has pleaded with the public for any information that could help bring her home. They describe her as a soft-spoken, shy, and loving person, and her sudden silence is entirely out of character.
