Extensive searches were carried out in areas Jed was known to frequent, particularly Lakeside Park, where he often walked his dogs. Police officers combed through the park, and dive teams searched the lake on multiple occasions, but these efforts yielded no clues or evidence related to his disappearance. Investigators have looked into his financial records and phone records and have considered persons of interest, though details have not been released publicly. While authorities have not ruled out the possibility of foul play, they have stated there is no definitive evidence of a crime, as no remains or crime scene have ever been discovered. The case of Jed Ouillette is a lingering mystery, leaving his family with a profound sense of loss and an enduring search for answers and closure. His sister holds onto the belief that someone has information about what happened to her brother and continues to hope that they will come forward.
