In the closing days of 2021, concern began to grow for 49-year-old Gonzalo Rubi of London, Ontario. Family and friends last had contact with him on December 26, 2021. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a Hispanic male, standing approximately five-foot-three to five-foot-six with a thin build, short dark hair, and hazel eyes. Distinctive tattoos mark his body, including the word "Raza" on his right hand, "Cuba" across the fingers of the same hand, and "Laraza" on the left side of his neck. The days that followed his last communication brought a concerning silence, and by January 13, 2022, with no word from him, his family officially reported him as a missing person. The investigation into Gonzalo's whereabouts began immediately, with the London Police Service leading the efforts. A significant development in the case came just two days after he was reported missing, on January 15, 2022, when his silver Nissan sedan was discovered abandoned. The vehicle was found empty in the area of Hamilton Road and Clarke Road, offering no immediate answers as to where Gonzalo might be. In an effort to piece together his last known movements, police later released images of an unidentified woman who they believed might have information that could be vital to the case.
