In the early morning hours of a spring day in 1995, a 40-year-old man named Jacob David Sallenback, known to some as Jake, vanished from Calgary, Alberta. His last confirmed sighting was in late April of that year. Standing at six feet two inches and weighing around 194 pounds, Jacob was a man with a distinct appearance, including short black hair, brown eyes, and a pockmarked complexion. He had noticeable scars on both his right forearm and left elbow. There is some uncertainty about the exact date he was last seen; some records indicate it was April 26, 1995, while a security camera at the Kings Crew motorcycle club headquarters captured what is believed to be his last known image, showing him driving away in his pickup truck at 2:30 a.m. on April 28. The truck was reportedly a blue 1984 Ford Ranger, though another source suggests it may have been a 1987 red Ford truck. When Jacob disappeared, he was dressed in black boots, a blue denim jacket with "Kings Crew" colors, a black t-shirt that also bore the "Kings Crew" logo in aqua, and was wearing a gold wedding ring. He was a founding member of the Kings Crew motorcycle club, and his departure from their headquarters is the last trace of him that authorities have been able to find. He had very little with him at the time, reportedly just $12 in cash and no credit cards. The few details available paint a picture of a man leaving in his vehicle in the middle of the night, not seemingly prepared for a long journey, and then simply ceasing to be. The lack of communication and financial activity following his disappearance was immediate and absolute. In the days that followed, concern grew, and his family officially reported him as a missing person on May 1, 1995. The subsequent investigation yielded few answers. His bank account remained untouched, and searches across North American police databases for his name or his truck's license plate have come up empty for decades. While his association with a motorcycle club raised questions, both police and club members stated they did not believe his disappearance was connected to a violent biker war that was occurring in Montreal at the time. His case became unsettlingly similar to the vanishing of another Kings Crew member years earlier. The case of Jacob Sallenback has grown cold over the years, a painful mystery with no clear leads or resolution. He drove off into the night and was never seen or heard from again, leaving behind a profound sense of loss and a series of unanswered questions for his family and community.
