He wore distinctive black, horn-rimmed glasses and was dressed in black pants, a white shirt, and a maroon or wine-colored cardigan. The circumstances leading up to Kenneth's disappearance have been a focal point of the investigation. Reports indicate that an argument occurred at the social gathering before he left. It was also noted that he was feeling despondent that evening. In the days and weeks that followed his disappearance, extensive searches were organized in the St. Walburg area. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police from the North Battleford detachment, along with police dogs and civilian volunteers, scoured the heavily wooded and marshy landscape, an environment known for the presence of bears.
