In the late autumn of 2021, a 29-year-old woman named Krystine Amanda Scott vanished from the city of Windsor, Ontario. She was last seen on November 25, 2021. Krystine is described as a white female, standing five feet tall and weighing around 90 pounds, with a slender build. She has brown eyes and, at the time of her disappearance, had long, straight blonde hair, though it was noted that her hair color and style could have changed. A distinctive tattoo of a butterfly is located on her upper back. Although Krystine was known to lead a transient lifestyle and didn't have a fixed address, her family and friends grew deeply concerned when an unusual amount of time passed without any contact from her. This extended silence was considered out of character, as she typically reached out to her loved ones, especially for special occasions like birthdays and Christmas. As weeks turned into months with no word from Krystine, her concerned family and friends officially reported her missing in February 2022. The Windsor Police Service's Major Crime Unit took on the investigation, recognizing that the length of her absence was a serious cause for concern. Investigators learned that while she was known to frequent areas from Remington Park to downtown Windsor, the passage of time meant she could potentially be anywhere in the wider Essex County region or even across the province of Ontario. Despite her transient nature, the sudden and complete lack of communication was a significant red flag for both her family and the police. The investigation into Krystine Scott's disappearance has been extensive, involving numerous interviews and searches of both buildings and open ground. However, these efforts failed to produce any definitive information regarding her whereabouts. In an attempt to generate new leads, the Windsor Police Service, in collaboration with the Windsor Police Services Board, announced a $20,000 reward in October 2022. This reward was offered for information that could lead to locating Krystine or assist in the prosecution of anyone responsible for her disappearance. Police have conducted searches for evidence in connection with her case, including a notable search along the E.C. Row Expressway in March 2023, though the specific findings of these operations were not publicly detailed. The case remains an open investigation, a painful and unresolved situation for a family awaiting answers about their loved one. The central mystery of the case is what happened to Krystine after she was last seen, as her sudden disappearance without a trace remains entirely out of character despite her transient lifestyle.
