On a summer day in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, 41-year-old Carol Jean Shelleau was seen for the last time by her children. It was July 29, 1988, when she left her home, getting on the back of her estranged husband's motorcycle. At the time of her disappearance, Carol was described as being 5'0" tall and weighing approximately 119 pounds, with short, curly black hair and brown eyes. She wore a yellow tank top and multicoloured shorts that were predominantly yellow. She also had on large, round, tinted glasses. The circumstances surrounding Carol's disappearance immediately raised concerns. She has not been seen or heard from since that day. A significant and tragic development in the case came in September 1998, a decade after she vanished. Her estranged husband was found deceased in Vancouver, British Columbia. His death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The motorcycle she was last seen on was later found back in Sault Ste. Marie. Carol Jean Shelleau, who also used the last names Fallon and Solomon, has been missing for decades. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance, and her case is considered a suspected homicide.
