On May 29, 1998, a 24-year-old male named Marcas John Schmidseder left his family's residence in Mississauga, Ontario, and was never seen by them again. At the time of his disappearance, Marcas was described as a white male, standing at a height of 6'2" and weighing 160 pounds, with a thin build. He had straight brown hair that went over his ears and grey eyes. When he was last seen by his family, he was wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt, and was carrying a knapsack. Marcas was also known to be struggling with depression.

The initial disappearance was followed by a subsequent confirmed sighting of Marcas on June 9, 1998. He was seen at a bank in Massey, Ontario, a town several hours north of Mississauga. This sighting provided a brief glimmer of hope and a new lead in the search for the young man. However, after this encounter at the bank, the trail went cold. There have been no further confirmed sightings or communications from Marcas since that day in early June of 1998. The Peel Regional Police have been the primary investigating agency in this case, but despite their efforts, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance after the bank visit remain a mystery.

The case of Marcas John Schmidseder has remained open for over two decades, leaving his family with unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss. The lack of any new information has been a heavy burden for his loved ones. The overview of this case is one of a young man who, while battling personal struggles, vanished with very few clues as to his intentions or ultimate fate.
