In the early morning hours of September 6, 2020, 47-year-old Myra Gertrude Ramey was last seen in the rural area of Indian Creek Road in Davenport, a community nestled within Buchanan County, Virginia. According to her boyfriend, the two were traveling in his pickup truck when an argument ensued, leading to Myra exiting the vehicle and walking off. She has not been seen or heard from since that day. At the time of her disappearance, Myra was described as a white female, 5'8" to 5'9" tall, weighing between 125 and 160 pounds, with brown eyes and blonde hair. She was reportedly wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a blue or gray shirt, gray leggings, and bright pink sneakers, and was carrying a Coach purse. Distinguishing marks include a scar on her left knee and a faded, laser-treated tattoo on her ankle. The circumstances surrounding Myra's disappearance remain unclear and are based largely on the account of her boyfriend. He stated that they had been visiting another couple shortly before the incident occurred. After they left, the argument took place between 2:30 and 4:00 a.m., and he claims she got out of the truck near the Duty Free Will Baptist Church on Helen Henderson Highway and began walking in the opposite direction from which they were traveling. Her family reported her missing later that same day when she failed to return home. The area where Myra was last seen is described as very rural with limited cell phone service, which has complicated search efforts. Despite searches involving K9 units, no trace of her has been found. The investigation into Myra Ramey's disappearance is ongoing, with the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office continuing to look into the circumstances of her case. Early in the investigation, her boyfriend and the couple they had visited were considered persons of interest. The boyfriend also told police that Myra may have taken his phone by mistake and that she might have been under the influence of drugs. However, an examination of the phone and its records yielded no clues as to her whereabouts. Another individual with whom Myra reportedly had a disagreement was also considered a person of interest, but this person has since passed away. With few leads and the passage of time, Myra Ramey's case remains an unsolved and troubling mystery for her family and the community.
