Laura J. Murphy, a 42-year-old resident of Soldotna, Alaska, has been missing since June of 1989. She was last seen aboard a fishing vessel that capsized in Cook Inlet. At the time of her disappearance, Murphy, who also used the name Laura J. Carpenter, was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed approximately 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Distinguishing physical features include freckles, moles on her left eyelid, left arm, and thigh, and a strawberry birthmark on her right shoulder.
