On January 26, 1988, Tyler Bricker, the 34-year-old first mate of the F/V Pacific Apollo, was lost at sea in the Bering Sea. While working on the deck of the 165-foot crab boat, Bricker was inside a crab pot fixing a wire tie when it was unintentionally launched into the ocean.
