John Branner Fowler, Jr. was 43 years old when he was last seen on November 1, 1987, in the area of Ketchikan, Alaska. He was the skipper of the 40-foot troller vessel named the Rex. On that day, he was involved in a boating accident approximately 9 miles southwest of Sitka. Following the incident, the only items recovered were an empty life raft and some debris from the vessel, leading to the presumption that he is deceased.
