On June 29, 1984, 33-year-old Victor Lawrence Lane was reported missing from Sitka, Alaska. Initial reports indicated that Lane was last seen aboard his salmon troller, the JENNY, and had gone overboard somewhere between Gilmer Bay and Hill Island. At the time of his disappearance, Lane was described as a 5-foot-9-inch Caucasian male, weighing 160 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was believed to be wearing a green halibut jacket, brown rubber boots, and glasses.
