On the evening of June 15, 2020, a shooting in Waldorf, Maryland, left 34-year-old Kwasi Omatayo Louard-Clark dead and two other men seriously injured. Around 7:45 p.m. a patrol officer found a disabled vehicle near Acton Lane and Western Parkway with two men, ages 39 and 25, suffering gunshot wounds; both were flown to a hospital. A 911 call at about the same time reported a shooting on the 2400 block of Shawnee Lane where Louard-Clark was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators say Louard-Clark and the two wounded men had been together on Shawnee Lane when a suspect opened fire with a handgun. The violence reportedly followed an earlier altercation at a barbershop where the suspect had worked. After the barbershop dispute, the suspect was dropped off in Louard-Clark’s neighborhood, approached Louard-Clark and his friends outside, and began shooting. One friend was hit in the arm and stomach, another twice in the back. Louard-Clark was shot in the leg, fled into a neighbor’s home where children were present, then exited and was shot multiple times, including at close range to the head, in front of witnesses including his parents.
Officers tracked and located the suspect nearby; he was found with a loaded handgun and a head injury and was arrested that same day. Does anyone have information about Louard-Clark, his movements that evening, or the people who were with him?
