In the early morning hours of January 24, 2020, 29-year-old David Leroy King, a Black man from Essex, Maryland who performed as rapper Dee Dave, was fatally shot in a double shooting on the 900 block of Holgate Drive. Police arrived about 5:11 a.m. and found two adult men with gunshot wounds outside a residence. Emergency personnel pronounced King dead at the scene; the other man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. King lived on the 2100 block of Westfield Road.
Baltimore County homicide detectives later identified a suspect. Twenty-seven-year-old Calvin Krasheen Fogg, listed as having no fixed address, was arrested and charged with King’s first-degree murder and with attempted first-degree murder for the surviving victim. Fogg was held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
Did anyone in the area see or hear anything that morning that could help explain what happened?
