In the early morning hours of May 2, 2018, Wilhelmina Leake, 62, and her husband Dan Leake, 64, were found shot to death in their Omaha Street home in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Their adult son discovered the couple in their bedroom and his cries alerted neighbors. Prince George’s County Police responded about 3:05 a.m. and confirmed both had suffered multiple gunshot wounds; they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have said they do not believe the killings were random and have described the couple as having been targeted, but no motive has been released. The Leakes had lived in the cottage-style home for more than two decades and were remembered by neighbors for their generosity and community involvement. No arrests have been announced and the investigation remains open.

If anyone knew Wilhelmina or Dan, or has information about that night, please come forward to the authorities.
