Fernando Uriel Arroyos was 27 and an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer when he was fatally shot on January 10, 2022, in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood of Los Angeles. He and his girlfriend were looking at homes near 8711 Beach Street when a group of men who were seeking someone to rob confronted them. Arroyos tried to defend himself but was shot and later died of his injuries.

Investigators tied the attack to members of a local gang and identified Ernesto Cisneros, Jesse Contreras, and Luis De La Rosa Rios as the people involved. The suspects were located and charged with murder and related robbery offenses; the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office pursued the case.
