Has anyone else noticed the distinct lack of progress in Johnnie Ray Horne’s case? It’s been over seven years, and it’s so frustrating to think about how little closure his family has. I particularly feel for his sister, Essie. Losing not only a brother but also a husband to gun violence is unimaginable. I genuinely hope that her calls for community involvement are heard. One thing that really struck me was the description of the suspect vehicle. A late 90’s burgundy Honda Accord isn't exactly a rare car, but surely someone noticed it driving around that night given the circumstances. I keep wondering why nothing seems to have come from that particular lead. It makes me wonder if someone, somewhere, knows more but hasn't come forward for whatever reason. I know there’s a lot of fear in the community because of the violence in Lincoln Park, but I truly believe that if people banded together and shared any piece of information they might have—no matter how insignificant it seems—it could make a world of difference. If you’re reading this and know anything, please consider reaching out to the San Diego Police Department. For Johnnie’s family and for the safety and peace of mind for other residents out there, this case needs its breakthrough.

Has anyone else been following Johnnie Ray Horne’s case? It's been over seven years now, and it’s so incredibly frustrating how little progress seems to have been made. I keep thinking about the description of the car involved – a late 90's burgundy Honda Accord is hardly an uncommon vehicle, but has there been any follow-up on similar models in the area back then? I can't even begin to imagine what his sister, Essie, must be going through. Losing both a brother and a husband to gun violence is just unimaginable. I hope there’s someone out there who remembers something and finally comes forward. This lack of leads in such a tragic situation shows how critical it is for us as a community to keep sharing any and all details we might recall, no matter how small they seem. My heart goes out to the Horne family, and I truly hope there's a breakthrough soon.

Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Johnnie Ray Horne, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind about the neighborhood where the tragedy happened. I’ve read that Lincoln Park has been struggling with gun violence for years, and what strikes me is the feeling of fear and helplessness that residents must be dealing with daily. It's so important to talk about how these incidents are not just statistics but are personal and deeply affect everyone in the community. Does anyone have insights into local initiatives or groups working on reducing violence in the area? I've come across mentions of community efforts in other cities that managed to make a real difference, and I wonder if something similar could be done here. I think raising awareness and support for active local causes could both honor Johnnie's memory and contribute to a safer environment for everyone. Anyone from the area or with any ideas on where to start this conversation? Sending thoughts to everyone grieving and hoping for justice soon.
