Eduardo Reyes, 35, of Citrus Heights, California, died on June 22, 2015, after an officer-involved shooting. Lisa called 911 concerned for her and the children’s safety. When officers arrived at the apartment complex on Greenback Lane, Reyes, described as intoxicated and agitated, began shooting at them. Four officers returned fire, and Reyes was killed.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office conducted an independent review and concluded the officers acted lawfully, finding their actions were in self-defense and defense of others. That review examined reports, recordings, videos, photographs and forensic material. No criminal charges were filed against the officers; they had been placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
