I’ve been thinking a lot about Federico Moreno Jr. and Jorge Zavala’s families as they continue to navigate the aftermath of the tragic events at El Potrero Night Club. I can't even imagine how devastating it must be to lose loved ones so suddenly and violently. I feel for them as they endure the emotional toll this has undoubtedly taken. What really strikes me about this case is the role that Lourdes Olvera played. It’s disturbing how her actions contributed to such a severe escalation, yet she’s already out of prison. I understand the justice system's complexities and deals that had to be made, but it’s hard to reconcile that with the gravity of what transpired. It’s good to see that Vega is serving a lengthy sentence, but it’s little comfort for those who lost Federico and Jorge. I hope the community in Arvin can heal over time and that their memories will be cherished. This story serves as a reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control and change lives forever.
