Simeon Anthony Smith, 27, of Plantation, Florida, was shot multiple times and killed on October 22, 2015. The shooting happened early that morning after Smith and another man got off a Broward County Transit bus on North State Road 7. Smith was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Surveillance from the bus showed the two men arguing before the shooting.

Investigators quickly identified 27-year-old Bryant Anthony Brown Jr. as the primary suspect. Brown was arrested shortly after midnight on October 23, 2015, on an unrelated attempted murder warrant out of Hollywood, Florida, for an October 6, 2015, incident in which an acquaintance who had been sheltering him was shot and survived. At the time he was being held without bond on charges connected to the Hollywood shooting, including attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, while Plantation police worked to gather more evidence to pursue formal charges in Smith’s killing.

Anyone with information about the October 22, 2015, shooting or who knew Simeon Smith is asked to come forward.
