Has anyone delved into the relationship dynamics in the Sitton family leading up to that tragic Thanksgiving in 2009? I can't help but feel for Jim and Muriel Sitton, who not only had to endure such an unfathomable loss of their little girl Makayla, but also had to grapple with the complexities of family ties that brought Paul Merhige to their home that day. Family gatherings are supposed to be filled with joy, yet they were so openly shattered by an act of violence that no one foresaw, despite Merhige’s history. It's a haunting reminder to not only keep mental health discussions open within our circles but also to never take our loved ones for granted. My heart goes out to the Sittons and everyone affected, and I hope sharing these stories helps in some way to keep the memories of Raymonde, Makayla, and the others alive. ?
