The incident occurred at the home of Jim and Muriel Sitton, where the family had gathered for a festive meal. The perpetrator, Paul Michael Merhige, a relative with a history of mental health issues and longstanding grievances against his family, opened fire on his unsuspecting relatives.
Raymonde Joseph, along with her twin nieces, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, and her six-year-old granddaughter, Makayla Sitton, were among the victims of this senseless act of violence.
Merhige, who had been estranged from the family for over a decade, was a late addition to the Thanksgiving gathering.
