I recently came across the tragic case of Officer Scott Richard Rakow, and what’s been stirring in my mind is the role of the spotters in this whole operation. It's chilling to think how these individuals perched in high rises were the silent catalysts in this dreadful chain of events. Their presence circumvented justice, allowing the criminals to evade what could have been a decisive strike by the police. My heart goes out to Officer Rakow’s family and the entire MBPD, who had to witness such a brave officer’s life being taken away abruptly. It's a stark reminder of how dangerous and unpredictable undercover operations can be, and how many moving parts there are—some completely unseen. How can law enforcement better counteract this kind of surveillance in future operations to protect those on the frontline? Any thoughts?
