I was reading up on the Rosewood Massacre, and it's chilling to think about what folks like Sam Carter went through. Imagine being part of a tight-knit community only to have it ripped apart in such a brutal way because of baseless claims and racial hatred. Sam was just going about his life when everything changed in the blink of an eye. The unfounded suspicion and violence he faced is deeply unsettling. I can't help but wonder how his family and friends managed each day after such a senseless loss, knowing there was no justice at the time. It's painful to realize that it took decades for the wider world to acknowledge these events, and while some compensation came much later, it doesn't erase the trauma and devastation endured by so many. My heart goes out to all affected; their resilience is truly admirable.
