A disagreement about boxing at a Macon bar ended in fatal gunfire. Dedrick Bulls, a 42-year-old security guard working at the Full House Tavern on Bloomfield Road, was involved in a conversation with his nephew on December 12, 2022, when 19-year-old card dealer Andrew Ronnie Mullis interjected. Mullis, who had been asked to leave earlier for excessive drinking and remained outside, grabbed a phone as Bulls reached for it, produced a firearm, and shot Bulls in the face.
Bulls was taken to the hospital, fought for his life for five days, and died on December 17, 2022; his death was recorded as the 70th homicide in Macon-Bibb that year. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office identified Mullis as the suspect; he surrendered on December 20, 2022, and was charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. At trial, defense claimed self-defense and cited surveillance footage, while witnesses said no one at the club had been aggressive toward Mullis; a jury convicted Mullis of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possessing a firearm during a felony, and he received life plus five years.
Does anyone have information about the moments before the shooting or recall seeing activity outside the tavern that night?
