Sixteen-year-old Hakeem Flowers was shot and killed in a vacant lot on Mason Street in Macon, Georgia, in June 2022. He was one of three people struck by gunfire in that incident. Hakeem left behind a young son and was described by family as a good son and a goofy kid who liked to have fun; he attended Soore Academy and had been working to graduate early.
An arrest followed the shooting. A 29-year-old man named Kendrea Hubbard was taken into custody after being released from the hospital for an injury he sustained during the incident and was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and a weapons charge in connection with Hakeem’s death. Less than a year after Hakeem’s killing, his older brother Donmeico Flowers was also shot and killed, compounding the family’s loss.
Does anyone have information about Hakeem’s life in Macon or the events on Mason Street that could help clarify what happened?
