On the night of October 8, 2021, 21-year-old Aquanis Keshawn Howard was struck by gunfire on Grier Street in Macon, Georgia, and later died at Piedmont Macon Hospital. Howard walked into the emergency room after being shot and was pronounced deceased by Coroner Leon Jones from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper chest.

Howard was one of two men killed that night. Investigators found the second victim, 26-year-old Jeremy Beebee, unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole; Beebee was also fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office described the events as a double homicide and said the circumstances remain under active investigation.
