Ronnie Darryl Greer, 32, was shot and killed in Valdosta, Georgia, on the evening of September 26, 2021. At about 7:25 p.m. police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of West Savannah Avenue and found Greer with a gunshot wound to his lower body. Officers provided first aid and he was taken to South Georgia Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Valdosta Police detectives identified a known acquaintance, Torianto Markese Jackson, as the alleged shooter. Arrest warrants filed September 28, 2021, charged Jackson with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was described as possibly traveling with a woman in a silver 2016 Chevrolet Malibu with damage to the front driver’s side quarter panel and was considered armed and dangerous.

Jackson later turned himself in to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office on November 1, 2021. Does anyone have information about Greer’s movements that evening or about the vehicle and people seen in the West Savannah Avenue area?
