Emmanuel Stroud Jr., 24, was shot and killed in Macon, Georgia, on September 16, 2017. Bibb County deputies responded just before midnight to the 2800 block of Walmar Drive and found two men shot. Stroud suffered gunshot wounds to his abdomen and the left side of his head, was taken to Navicent Health medical center in critical condition, and later died. A second man, 36-year-old Tecovelin R. Starling, was shot in the left leg at the same scene.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigation concluded that Stroud had first shot Starling and that Starling returned fire. After review, the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office determined Starling’s actions were justified and no criminal charges were filed in Stroud’s death. Stroud’s killing came three months after the June 18, 2017, fatal shooting of his father, 57-year-old Emmanuel Stroud Sr., one of several unsolved homicides in Bibb County that year.

Did anyone in the area witness the shooting or have information about either incident that could help complete the timeline?
