On the late evening of September 9, 2014, 31-year-old Ricoh Flip Taylor was killed in a brazen shootout at an apartment complex in College Park, Georgia. Taylor had been sitting on a wall with two women when gunfire erupted in what investigators described as a chaotic, gang-related exchange. At least two groups fired more than 50 rounds from four different weapons. Taylor and the two women were struck; the women suffered non-life-threatening injuries while Taylor was fatally wounded and managed to move a few feet before collapsing.
The College Park Police Department canvassed the area, collected evidence and appealed to the public for information. Family members publicly pleaded for witnesses to come forward. Despite initial leads, the investigation went cold and no arrests have been publicly announced. The identities of those involved in the shootout remain unknown.
If anyone was in the area that night or has information about the groups or weapons involved, please share what is known with the investigators handling the case.
