In the late hours of July 30, 2014, 51-year-old Ivory T. Carter was found shot near the intersection of Hampstead Avenue and Rogerwood Street in Savannah, Georgia. Responding officers discovered Carter with life-threatening injuries after a reported shooting at about 10 p.m.; he was taken to Memorial University Medical Center and later died of his wounds.
Investigators concluded the shooting followed a planned robbery. On the day of the incident numerous phone calls were exchanged between Carter, a sales manager at a local car dealership who was driving a dealership-owned Nissan Murano, and Laquan Sharelle Brown. A witness reported seeing three people surround an SUV, heard gunshots, and saw Carter running for help before collapsing. Rashard Warfield Mosley, 18, and Laquan Sharelle Brown, 20, were arrested and charged in connection with the murder; both were later indicted.
Carter was a United States Army veteran who served three years, later worked for Comcast Cable and then about a decade in car sales, and was remembered as a devoted father and friend. Did anyone in the Savannah area see the Nissan Murano or the SUV that night or have information about the people involved?
