Jeremy Jackson, a 33-year-old African American man from East Moline, Illinois, was found with a critical gunshot wound on August 30, 2020, around 3:23 a.m. He was discovered near the border of Silvis and East Moline in the area of 19th Street and 18th Avenue and later identified as dying from a gunshot wound; the Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson performed an autopsy.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred in Silvis, in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue Court. Within days, the Silvis Police Department and East Moline Police developed leads that resulted in arrest warrants for two people: Jerry J. Sanders, 36, charged with first-degree murder (described as 5 feet 9 inches, 185 pounds, black hair, brown eyes), and Keith O. Richardson, 42, charged with obstructing justice (described as 5 feet 5 inches, 165 pounds).
The community followed the subsequent court actions closely as the prosecution prepared its case. Does anyone have information about Jeremy’s movements that night or about the area around 3rd Avenue Court on August 30, 2020?
