On August 24, 2020, a fire at the Waters Edge condominium complex in Glendale Heights, Illinois, left two people dead: Salman Khan, a 4-year-old boy, and Shafath Khan, a 46-year-old man. Both were found after the unit on the second floor had been engulfed by flames. Responding officers rescued a 6-year-old child from the unit with minor injuries but could not re-enter because of intense heat and smoke.

Preliminary autopsy findings reported that both Salman Khan and Shafath Khan died from gunshot wounds to the head, and witnesses said they heard a boom before the fire. The DuPage County Coroner had not yet ruled whether the deaths are homicides or suicides, and police did not disclose the circumstances that led to the blaze. No one was in custody and authorities said there was no threat to the community while the investigation continued.

Does anyone have information about the Waters Edge unit or the days leading up to August 24, 2020, that could help investigators?
