I came across Omar Perez’s case and can't help but feel for his loved ones. Being out with friends should be a time for fun, not tragedy, and it’s incredibly unsettling how quickly things turned violent. Ewell’s Bar was just an ordinary gathering spot, but it became the scene of such a senseless act. It makes me wonder about the atmosphere in places like that—with heated arguments erupting so fast, are there's underlying tensions in these environments that need addressing? While the focus is often on tracking down the perpetrator (as it rightly should be), I think it's also crucial we reflect on what leads to these violent interactions in the first place. Could there be more that community programs or perhaps the bar owners themselves could do to prevent these escalations? And of course, hoping for justice for Omar and strength for his family during this painful time. It’s vital that we support them by sharing any info we might have heard or seen.
