Sandra Margaret Reder Ardoin, 60, and her husband Lee Edward Ardoin, 62, were found dead from gunshot wounds inside their Lake Charles, Louisiana, home after a police standoff that followed a report of an armed naked man in the neighborhood. Officers first encountered the man outside; an officer shot him, and he retreated into the residence. A SWAT unit used a robot to assess the scene and then found the armed man dead inside the house.
When officers entered to secure the scene, they discovered Sandra and Lee Ardoin, who the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office believes had been killed about two days earlier. The armed man was identified as Christopher Lee Ardoin, and Sandra was his mother. Sandra worked as a nurse at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for nearly three decades.
What information might help explain the motive or timeline in the days before the killings?
