Peter Guy was 24 when he was shot and killed during a large gathering in Ruston, Louisiana. On August 9, 2020, deputies from the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office responded shortly before 1 a.m. to the 400 block of Highway 146 for reports of a loud party with more than 100 vehicles lining the roadway. While deputies worked to disperse the crowd a single gunshot was heard; moments later Guy approached officers saying he had been shot. He was taken to Northern Louisiana Medical Center and later died of his injury.
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation. In the days and weeks afterward no persons of interest, suspects, arrests, or charges were publicly announced, and officials did not disclose what led to the fatal shooting at the crowded party. The case remains an open investigation with no publicly released resolution.
If anyone was at that party or has information about the shooting, please contact the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office.
