On April 22, 2020, the body of 34-year-old Shawn Gregory Whiteside, a white male from Bogalusa, Louisiana, was found by a motorist at the entrance of a rural hunting camp off Highway 1072. The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office determined Whiteside had died of a gunshot wound to the chest. The witness who found the body reported seeing a vehicle speeding away, which led investigators to a residence on Denham Avenue in Bogalusa.
Detectives located the vehicle and questioned its occupants, 29-year-old Joseph Anthony Peoples and 18-year-old Allison Cook. Investigators say Peoples admitted to shooting Whiteside after an argument in the car; the probe concluded Whiteside was a passenger when Peoples, allegedly upset because he believed Whiteside was flirting with Cook, shot him and then the two drove to the hunting camp and left the body at the entrance. Peoples and Cook were arrested and charged in connection with the death.
Does anyone have information about Whiteside’s movements earlier on April 22, 2020, or witnessed the vehicle leaving the hunting camp that day?
