The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office identified two local teenagers in connection with the case. Within a day, 18-year-old Christopher D. Florez of Calhoun was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and felony obstruction of justice and was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on bonds totaling over one million dollars and a failure to appear warrant. Eighteen-year-old Gavin Bernard Karty of Calhoun was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and was booked into the same jail.
