Oshae Isaiah Doffney, 23, was shot and killed in Eunice, Louisiana, on January 21, 2019. The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of West Vine Avenue in the early morning hours after Doffney had driven there with at least one passenger. He was struck by gunfire as he was getting out of his vehicle and was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Witnesses at the scene reported a dark-colored vehicle fleeing after the shots were fired. Police arrested 19-year-old Daricko Stevens the next day. Authorities say Stevens and Doffney were friends and that the shooting happened while the two were together inside Doffney’s vehicle; Stevens was charged with manslaughter and obstruction of justice.
