In the early morning of December 10, 2016, deputies were called to the Meadows Apartments at 100 Kathy Meadows Drive in Crowley, Louisiana, after a reported shooting. Outside his apartment they found 32-year-old Michael Winn suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Acadia General Hospital and pronounced dead, and investigators classified the death as a homicide.

Detectives say they found no evidence of a prior argument or confrontation at the scene and believe Winn was specifically targeted. The investigation later cooled without a suspect publicly identified or arrested. The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers have appealed for information and a cash reward has been offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
