Ashley Nichole Metz was 23 when she was found dead on June 21, 2016. Her body was discovered inside a vehicle that had been set on fire in Scott, Louisiana; investigators determined she had been shot before the car was burned. Her 22-year-old boyfriend, Brouklynn Walter Hill, was found in a similarly burned vehicle in nearby Carencro and had also been shot.
Two men from Lafayette — 32-year-old Joshua Willis and 19-year-old Joseph Sylvester — were arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths. Both were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and later indicted on those charges. Sylvester agreed to a plea deal and to testify against Willis; Willis was convicted for the murders and received two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole or probation.
Ashley’s mother, Carla Dean, publicly pressed for justice after her daughter’s killing. If anyone knew Ashley, Brouklynn, or observed suspicious vehicles or activity in Scott or Carencro around June 21, 2016, please share what was seen.
