Jermaine Decuir Sr., a 38-year-old native of New Iberia, Louisiana, was fatally shot on Ann Street in the early morning hours of Friday, March 4, 2016. The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded and opened a homicide investigation into the shooting that claimed his life.

Jermaine was a father to a son, Jermaine Decuir Jr., two daughters, Octavious Sonnier and Quiana Roy, and he had a stepson, Dameon Polite Jr. His mother is Wendy Henry; his brothers are Danny Decuir and Danny Moore; his sisters are Carondelette Decuir, Tashanna Decuir, Santanna Decuir, and Danicka Green. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Moore, and two daughters, Jermasha Javon Decuir and ZKylyn Anlya Gregoire. Funeral services were held March 19, 2016, and he was buried at St. Matthews Cemetery.
